“Becoming parents for the first time was nerve wrecking and emotional. My Fiancé & I knew we wanted to be as prepared as possible. My fear was delivering and coping with the pain. In my heart I wanted to do my best to avoid pain medications for as long as possible. After attending the hospital tour we decided maybe we should have someone else there who would be trained & qualified to help make our experience more comfortable. We decided to have a Labor Doula present. We met with our Maternal Bliss Doula Specialist 6 weeks before I delivered. She helped with coaching techniques, birthing positions and helped me create a birth plan that would carry out our request from A-Z. From the time I was admitted to the first feeding our Maternal Bliss Specialist was there all the way. She was comforting, assuring & gave me the strength when I felt like giving up.
